New Ford F-250 Truck

The 2020 Ford F-250 Is No Longer Limited To The Worksite

In recent times, heavy-duty trucks are becoming both more capable and refined. The perfect example is the Ford F-250.  The F-250 is loaded with all kinds of technology, convenience, and safety features that, in the past, only featured in light-duty trucks, further blurring the lines between work trucks and luxury trucks. The F-250 will be the perfect fit for drivers in Columbia and Belleville.

F-250 Overview

This truck combines remarkable utility with everyday practicality. The F-250 comes back this year with powerful engines and transmission combos that can provide up to 20,000 pounds of towing capability. On top of that, you get a cabin full of comfort and convenience features such as Wi-Fi capabilities, voice command, navigation, a leather interior, heated seats, and interior lighting.

We can all conclude one thing: the F-250 is no longer just limited to the worksite. Under the hood, you have three engine options for your driving exploits. The possibilities are two gasoline V8 engines or a turbocharged diesel V8. In addition to that, these engines provide excellent towing capabilities that they can manage even in rugged terrain. The F-250 is a buyers' favorite here at Mertz Ford in Millstadt, IL, and we have prepared this post to tell you all about it.

Interior and Technology

The Ford F-250 comes with three types of cabs: regular, extended (SuperCab), and crew, all of which are built for comfort, providing enough room with many luxury features in the higher trims. For instance, you can access heated front seats with a massage feature and a 10-way power adjustment feature on the higher trims. The seats a comfortable and are made from high-quality fabrics. However, in the higher trims such as King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited, occupants sit inside an opulent interior complete with leather seating and plenty of technology to go around.

The F-250 also provides an excellent infotainment system that is interfaced with the revered SYNC® 3 system. This masterpiece from Ford is capable of both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ from the XLT trim and above, while a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to ten devices is standard from the base trim. The F-250 also includes auxiliary audio input, Bluetooth® as well as USB-C ports to keep your devices charged while on the road. The F-250 gives you the best of both worlds: a workhorse and a mobile office.

Safety

The importance of safety on the road can never be overemphasized. Over the years, Ford trucks have been known to provide excellent safety to their users. Most of the vehicles produced by Ford include a safety and driver-assistance package that will keep you safe and focused on the road. The F-250 is no exception. The F-250 features a heavy-laden safety suite with some of the key features being:

  • Pre Collision Assist: This feature is offered as standard from the second trim of the 2020 F-250 and optional for the base. It is a safety feature that prevents all forward collisions with your F-250. This feature also includes automatic emergency braking. If a collision is imminent, an alert will be sounded by the system early enough. If no action is taken by the driver to mitigate the impending collision, the system automatically applies the brakes and stops the truck.
  •
  • Blind-Spot Information System: The BLIS system comes together with a Cross-Traffic Alert system and Trailer Tow. This system monitors the truck's sides and alerts you if a vehicle is in your blind spot by sounding an alert. This year's BLIS system has been increased to cater to a trailer up to 33 feet in length. The rear cross-traffic alert is especially handy when it comes to backing out of parking spaces. It will warn you if there are any vehicles behind your truck while the Trailer Tow system is a camera system that allows you to see behind your trailer when reversing.
